Verdal D'Oriola Fig
Verdal D'Oriola is one of the earliest ripening fig varieties, making it ideal for growers in colder climates with shorter growing seasons. These figs usually ripen in late summer-early fall. Verdal D'Oriola figs are a Spanish variety from Ibiza in the Balearic Islands. This fig was part of Montserrat Pons' collection. Some fig collectors believe Verdal D'Oriola is a synonym for De La Senyora Hivernenca.

Verdal D’Oriola figs are known for their beautiful grass green skin. Their protective skin has a good resistance to cracking, even in humidity and rain. They also have a small eye, giving them good resistance to pests. Verdal D’Oriola figs are drop shaped, grow to medium size, and have pink-red pulp depending on growing conditions. The figs have a good texture, size, and flavor, making them an all-around favorite for growers. The green figs grow on trees with mostly 5-lobed leaves and the trees are vigorous growers.

When do we ship cuttings?
Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):
We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.
**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refridgerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.
Rooted Cuttings(Spring):
We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
