De Tres Esplets Fig
De Tres Esplets is a highly productive variety that grows as a rounded shrub form with lots of easy to reach low branches. It can be pruned to whatever shape is desired, however. De Tres Esplets fruits have medium thick skin that is difficult to peel, and they do not hold up well to transport, but they have a tight eye and are very resistant to splitting!

The most highly regarded characteristic of the De Tres Esplets fig may be its early ripening— as early as June in some climates! As its name suggests, De Tres Esplets will set three harvests for its grower. The first is a breba crop and may be the tastiest of the group. The breba crop will have a lighter color skin and melon/ honey/ sugar flavor. The figs are very soft with a drop of honey in the ostiole. The second crop is the main crop. It will have darker skin than the breba and a wonderfully unique tangy flavor. The third and final crop comprises late figs with slightly less flavor than its predecessors, but they’re still a special treat. These figs are best grown and enjoyed in the comfort of your own backyard so try a cutting from Kremp Florist.

When do we ship cuttings?
Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):
We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.
**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refridgerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.
Rooted Cuttings(Spring):
We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
