Col De Dame Gegantina Fig
The name Col de Dame Gegantina says it all'”this is a giant fig, the largest of the CDD varieties. According to one connoisseur though, it is really the weight of Gegantina rather than the size that is impressive. The dense fruit contains a jammy pulp that is not watery and has little to no seed crunch. It is a beautiful red color and has a smooth and rich berry flavor. Gegantina is not overly sweet, and the acidity allows the delicious flavor to linger in your mouth after eating!

This French fig originated from famed fig grower, Monserrat Pons. It has the distinctive long “lady’s neck” of Col de Dame figs. Gegantina’s yellow/ green skin is perfectly smooth without any longitudinal cracks, and is chewy when eaten. The small, tight eye is not known to drip any honey, which helps this variety to resist pests. With all these great qualities, itis no wonder that Harvey C of Figaholics popularized this fig. Once nearly impossible to obtain, Kremp Florist now sells this variety to local customers and those throughout the country who wish to get their hands on this great variety!

***Please be sure to read our Terms and Conditions before purchasing cuttings***
When do we ship cuttings?
Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):
We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.
**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refridgerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.
Rooted Cuttings(Spring):
We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
