Col De Dame Bordissontenca Fig
CDD Bordissontenca is a desirable member of the Col de Dame fig family because of its ability to producea bumper crop of figs. In fact, it may be the most productive of the Col de Dame varieties. This French fig is a unifera variety, meaning it produces one main crop each year. However, it is not unheard of for Bordissontenca to also produce a breba crop on occasion!

Col De Dame Bordissontenca’s high output makes up for the fact that the fig may not be the most attractive.The fig’s skin is green with some purple showing through. It is generally round but can have an irregular shape, unlike some of the other perfectly tear dropped CDD varieties. Some have speculated that the name Bordissontenca refers to this fig’s resemblance to the bordissot varieties that are known for their thick and flattened look. The leaves are long and can bear up to 7 lobes. Beauty, however, is more than skin deep. Beneath this exterior is a delicious red fruit with a dark strawberry color. The taste and high productivity should be enough to add CDD Bordissontenca to your fig wishlist!

When do we ship cuttings?
Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):
We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.
**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refridgerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.
Rooted Cuttings(Spring):
We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
