Albacor Molla Blanca Fig
Do not let the name Albacor Molla Blanca fool you—this fig actually has a dark black exterior. The medium-thick skin has few imperfections as it covers the pear shaped fruit. Inside however, is where you will find the “blanca,” whitish-pink pulp that makes this variety so unique. It has a moderately sweet, figgy flavor and a chewy texture.

Details
Albacor Molla Blanca is a Spanish variety that originally came from the collection of fig-enthusiast, Montserrat Pons. Pons harvested and categorized many wild figs, including this one, which was found growing in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar on the property of Pedro Santandreu i Ferrer. This tree will produce primarily 3 lobed leaves, with some 5 or single-lobed leaves. Fruits are of medium size, weighing between 35-40 grams. Albacor Molla Blanca will set a breba crop and a main crop. Depending on climate, you can expect this to be an early harvest, with the main crop fruiting from August-September. This variety is known to have a high yield per tree.

When do we ship cuttings?
Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):
We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.
**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refridgerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.
Rooted Cuttings(Spring):
We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
