Details
Figoin is a fig variety that was originally from Italy, but became popular in the U.S. when fig-grower Bass took a liking to the variety and began propagating it. Figoin simply means “small fig” in Italian, so it is no wonder that the generic moniker has caused some name confusion between several varieties.
Some have described the red pulp as having a berry flavor, good acidity, mild sweetness, and a smooth texture. Figoin has a yellow/green skin with little to no neck. Fig enthusiasts with short growing seasons especially love Figoin because it is early ripening, cold hardy, and has over wintered for some, even in the cold north eastern coastal climates.

When do we ship cuttings?
Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):
We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.
**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refridgerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.
Rooted Cuttings(Spring):
We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
