Dels Ermitans puts out lots of brownish green sweet figs with a deep red interior. The Dels Ermitans is thought to have originated from the Balearic Islands, which are an archipelago of Spain in the Mediterranean Sea. You may have heard of two of the islands as the popular vacation destinations of Mallorca and Ibiza. Monks, called Ermitans in Spanish, may have grown the figs on the island in the past, and that’s how they got their name. These figs would make an excellent addition to at-home Spanish style cooking, or a delicious snack on their own.

When do we ship cuttings?
Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):
We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.
**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refridgerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.
Rooted Cuttings(Spring):
We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
