Leo Longhissimo is an Italian fig variety. It is part of the collection from the Conservatory of Pomona, a botanical garden dedicated to preserving fruit trees. The conservatory lives up to its namesake, “Pomona,” the Latin goddess of fruitful abundance. The site features over 1000 ancient fruit trees from all over the world, carefully maintained using organic gardening methods. Visitors can tour the gardens located near the Adriatic sea in accordance with low impact tourism measures. Leo Longhissimo has a bright yellow skin and round or teardrop shape. Its red interior is both very sweet and slightly acidic, giving it a unique taste that is sought-after by fig enthusiasts. Leo Longhissimo is part of the Dalmatie class of figs.

When do we ship cuttings?
Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):
We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.
**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refridgerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.
Rooted Cuttings(Spring):
We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
