Jebba Fig
The Jebba fig has a black or purple skin and red pulp. It is tear-drop shaped, and grows on tress with three-lobed leaves. The Djebba region is ideal for fig growing because its high mountains and cliffs offer optimal drainage for its many natural water sources.

Jebba is Tunisian fig hailing from the country in North Africa. It shares its name with the mountain village where the fig was discovered, and it is sometimes spelled “Djebba.” The village is said to date back to the Neolithic era, and the fig variety and many fruit orchards have been developed and honed for centuries. The fig is so emblematic of this region that there is also a famous Jebba fig market and Jebba festival. Jebba is the first Tunisian fruit with a protected designation of origin, which guarantees the authenticity of the fruit. The protected designation improves the fruit’s quality with external audits, while also increasing the livelihoods of the local farmers who grow Jebba figs.

When do we ship cuttings?
Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):
We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.
**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refridgerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.
Rooted Cuttings(Spring):
We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
