Harrys Crete Fig
As the name suggests, Harry’s Crete figs originally hail from Greece. A Greek immigrant brought the unknown variety to the U.S. and began sharing cuttings with local fig growers. When people began to taste the unknown variety, it was clear that Harry’s Crete would be a great addition to the fig collecting community.

Harry’s Crete figs grow on trees with mainly 5 lobed leaves. The leaves are more rounded with short, squatty fingers. The figs are pear shaped, with some neck to them, and have a green and yellow exterior with cracking. Harry’s Crete are large figs with red pulp. They have a rich and strong berry flavor and thin skin. There is a hint of lemon acidity to them with light seed crunch. The jammy, syrupy texture has made this a favorite of many fig connoisseurs. Harry’s Crete is a common variety.

When do we ship cuttings?
Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):
We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.
**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refridgerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.
Rooted Cuttings(Spring):
We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
